“The paths leading man to god or Truth are said to be many. I will speak only of the shortest. It is to recognize God as the Self in you and then to find Him out. What is the distance then between you and God, between you and yourself? Ah, there is no distance at all, a full Zero! Yet, how dare you say to find God and Truth is hard?’’

<  Verse 10
>

अपर्याप्तं तदस्माकं बलं भीष्माभिरक्षितम्‌ ।
पर्याप्तं त्विदमेतेषां बलं भीमाभिरक्षितम्‌ ।। १.१० ।।

aparyāptaṃ tadasmākaṃ balaṃ bhīṣmābhirakṣitam ।
aparyāptaṃ tvidasmeteṣāṃ balaṃ bhīmābhirakṣitam ।। 1.10 ।।

Our army shielded by Bheeshma is
unbounded, unlimited. Whereas the army
protected by Bheeshma is limited, insufficient.

Note: The word paryaptam and aparyaptam, literally mean
that despite the much larger number and Bheeshma, Drona
and others commanding it, Duryodhana intrinsically feels
it is ‘insufficient’, not strong enough, to defeat the
opponents. The much lesser army of Yudhistira seems to
him as ‘sufficiently strong’ to put his team to defeat.
