अन्ये च बहव: शूरा मदर्थे त्यक्तजीविता: ।
नानाशस्त्रप्रहरणा: सर्वे युद्धविशारदा: ।। १.९ ।।

anye ca bahava: śūrā madarthe tyaktajīvitā: ।
nānāśastrapraharaṇā: sarve yuddhaviśāradā: ।। 1.9 ।।

 And many highly skilled fighters, adepts in
using many a weapon and missile, numerous
heroic fighters, all out to abandon their lives
for my sake.

Note: See how fateful is Duryodhana’s remark that his
leaders are out to lay down their lives for his sake. He
portends that they all would only die, not win the war
and survive.
