There is a law and a process about the mind. Do not think that it is only applicable to the spiritual life. Life in any field, maybe worldly life, domestic life, professional life, societal life, anywhere, life is governed by the same principles so far as the mind and matter are concerned. It will be necessary for you to always keep a watch of your mind, watch on your mind. This watching the mind, understanding the mind should not be avoided or postponed. So, keep an eye always on your mind.
In improving the mind, when I think about, there is one fundamental principle. Do not entertain or cherish any kind of a bad thought. The bad thought may be about yourself or the others, it makes no difference. Any kind of a bad thought, no matter whether it is about you or the others, it is bad indeed and that spoils the mind. You may dislike bad, wickedness, vices and the things like that, quite alright. But you cannot hate people who are wicked, people who are bad. When I say this, there may be a revolt and a delusion in your minds. But you have to deal with them. You may dislike and disapprove of bad. But you cannot dislike and disapprove of bad people.
Even a murderer when he is arrested, he is kept in a jail and in the jail, the weight is taken when he is admitted and it is for the jailers to ensure that the weight of his body is kept intact. He is given food, nourishment, whatever is minimum necessary to preserve the body, everything is given. To some extent, he has also freedom but within limitations. If this is what is given to the murderer, you should also think that all people in spite of whatever they do, have a right to live in this world. So, give them a position in your mind, never hate them. At the same time you can try to dislike and discourage, disapprove of whatever is bad and wicked. This one principle I would like you to think about, spend a lot of time until you understand, accept and act upon it.
Dislike the bad, disapprove the bad but do not dislike and disapprove the bad people. Disliking the bad people itself is bad so far as you are concerned. It may appear to be a little enigmatic for you but you have to think about it and understand.
