Sreemad Bhagavatham 1.2.11
Knowledgeable people say that it is the 'non-dual knowledge', advaya-jnanam. This non-dual knowledge alone is spoken of as Brahman - the Ultimate Reality, Paramatma - the inmost Self, and Bhagavan - The Supremen Lord.

Vijnaana Mahotsava
15th Sreemad Bhaagavata Tattva Sameeksha Satram
Harih Om Tat Sat. We are happy to announce that the 15th Annual Sreemad Bhaagavata Tattva Sameeksha Satram will be held during the auspicious Margasheersha, from 23rd December 2016 to 01st January 2017 in Paralikad Naimishaaranyam, the sacred precincts of Thacchanaatthukaavu Devi Temple. Narayanashrama Tapovanam and Hind Navotthana Pratishtan will be jointly conducting the event.
Sreemad Bhaagavatam holds that Knowledge of the Supreme Truth is the only means to deliver human mind from taapa-traya, the three-fold afflictions of the world. Distinct from the usual Sreemad Bhaagavata Saptaahams, this Tattva Sameeksha Satram aims to instill deeper wisdom, universal values and rational insight through the profound thoughts of the great holy Text. Over the last 14 years, the objective is being fulfilled, every time to a greater degree.
Genesis of the Satram
In 2001, in connection with the inauguration of Annakshetra in Thacchanaathukaavu, for serving free food at noon everyday, Sreemad Bhaagavata Saptaaham was held. When it concluded, some listeners expressed to Poojya Swami Purushothama Tirtha and me, their eagerness to be exposed to the lofty text in greater depth, so that its message will become part of their daily life and interactions. It was then that we gave shape to the Sreemad Bhaagavata Tattva Sameeksha Satram.
Programme details
Over 30 distinguished exponents – Sannyaasins and Scholars – will be exposing the precious value-treasure. In addition to 5 lectures, mostly in Malayalam every day, there will be full recital (paaraayanam) of the original Sanskrit Text, spread over ten days. Additionally, English talks also will be there on 28th, 29th and 30th, keeping in mind those who would be attending the event from other States and abroad.
On Dec 26 Monday, 5155 students would participate in a collective Vishnusahasranaama Japotsava commemorating the 5155th year of Vishnusahasranaama stotra, the sterling cultural legacy bequeathed by Bheeshma to Yudhishthira. The session would begin by 9 in the morning and conclude after prasada distribution by around 1 o’ clock.
On Dec 28 Wednesday, before celebrating Rukmini Swayamvara in the evening, we propose to conduct ‘social marriages’ for which some requests have been received.
On the concluding day, 01 Jan Sunday , Vishnusahasranaama archana and havan will start by 9 and conclude with distribution of prasaada, by 2 pm.
Devotees coming from various parts of India and abroad can participate in the event with the sankalpa that the entire humanity should be blessed with prosperity, solidarity and inner strength.
Those who are unable to sit on the floor will also be able to participate in this mahotsava, with special facilities being made for sitting on the chair and performing the archana with akshata on plates distributed for the purpose.
Spreading the awareness
Proceeding with our plan as in the previous years, this year also three yaatras (processions) are organized for bringing (i) Sri Krishna idol from Guruvayur (ii) Dharma Dhvaja from Thiruvilwamala, and (iii) Sreemad Bhaagavata Grantha from Narayanashrama Tapovanam to the Satrashaala. These processions will form part of the General Dhaarmic Awakening measures. En-route, the yaatras will be received and welcomed by votaries of Dharma with bhojana-dravya-samarpanam (offering of materials for anna-daana).
Essay writing, Sreemad Bhaagavata Hymns recital, and elocution competitions are also being arranged for children of different age groups, to imbue a lasting effect in the society.
This year the shloka recitation will be based on Bhaagavatam 2nd Skandha, 7th chapter. 1st ten shlokas will be for Juniors, and seniors will recite shlokas 26 to 46. Devotion of Akrura and advice of Rishabha will be the topics for essay competition. Elocution Competition will be on the story of Krishna, the Vrindavan boy putting Indra to shame and also Mahabali’s sacrifice of Kingdom.
Jnaana yajna being far superior to material Yajnas, participating in or supporting this Knowledge Festival elicits the best of Divine blessings.
Opportunity for all
Thousands of people are expected to assemble everyday in Naimishaaranyam. With Annadaana for all, accommodation for outstation seekers, the spacious pandal, sound, light, first aid and medical help, arrangements for scholars, etc., this year’s event is estimated to cost Rs. 80 lakhs.
We earnestly look forward to your participation in this most benedictory event, mentally, materially or otherwise. Kindly inform your relatives, friends and well-wishers also, so that the holy endeavour will be strengthened and they too will derive lasting benedictions.
With love and ashirvad.
1 November 2016
Antaraatma,
Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
