"Let not world-objects be your mind’s master. Let them be, if at all, subservient to the mind. To be spiritual is not to look for one’s delight and fulfillment in the objects of the world. The mind that causes delight through any object can also provide delight without such an object. Delight in reality belongs to the mind alone. It is verily mind’s own gift."

Q & A

Q : How to attain Spritual Growth?

A :  Spiritual growth is different from religious or allied growth. It is focused on nurturing the mind, using the tool of intelligence, with a view to make the mind more and more pure, noble, stable, benevolent and perceptive.

Each of these qualities will make the mind more sensitive and refined.

The best way for the mind is to feel for and be fond of these qualities. Love a quality, it will begin to grow in you.

Make the mind more and more like the soul, until at last it verily becomes the Soul – full, affluent, delightful, harmonious and fulfilled.

Shrvana, manana and nididhyasana are the three means to attain spiritual growth and fruition.

Shravana, means repeated listening to the truthful pronouncements, particularly from the Guru and Scriptures.

Manana means assiduous reflection on the essence of what is heard.

When both are well pursued, the seeker will be led to meditation or contemplation, in which Self becomes the focus.
