"Unflinching devotion to the Teacher is paramount in the life of a true seeker. To begin with, an external God can be the object of faith. But once the devotee grows to be a seeker, only a Wise Teacher can fulfil his quest.  It is then for the seeker to get purified and enlightened by the words of wisdom from his Guru.  Their bond and attunement put the Teacher on the pedestal of God.  Such an impeccable Guru-sishya bond alone bestows wisdom, strength and fulfillment to the seeker."

Q & A

Question:

Namaskaaram Swamiji.

I am confused about how to lead my life so I can advance spiritually. Should a person be ambitious and go after his dreams, whatever they may be - whether it is to become a wealthy person or to become a writer. Or should a person take each day as it comes and surrender to God's will completely?

Poojya Swamiji's Reply:

Dear daughter, have confidence. Do not falter, tremble or shake. Variety is the law and expression of Nature. That is there in the spiritual front of seekers and those who cater to them. Yes, there are many sects and dogmas.

But rely upon your purity, need and aim. Feel and pray wholeheartedly “May I be led rightly to where I should be”. Finally that is the source to seek refuge under, where you feel affinity, solace and confidence. God is impersonal, only the items of the world have form and shape.

Our Scriptures are infallible. Upanishads, Bhagavadgeeta and allied spiritual texts are the guide. One following these, will not be misguided. So do not feel lost at all. “Before you knock, I open. Before you call, I hear.” These are the divine assurances.

Let the reliance and prayerful submission be as intense and wholesome as you can make them. That will then lead you safely.
