"Let not world-objects be your mind’s master. Let them be, if at all, subservient to the mind. To be spiritual is not to look for one’s delight and fulfillment in the objects of the world. The mind that causes delight through any object can also provide delight without such an object. Delight in reality belongs to the mind alone. It is verily mind’s own gift."

Now Krishna summarizes all that he has been saying in the chapter:

मन्मना भव मद्भक्तो मद्याजी मां नमस्कुरु ।
मामेवैष्यसि युक्त्वैवमात्मानं मत्परायणः ।।
man-manā bhava mad-bhakto mad-yājī māṃ namaskuru |
mām-evaiṣyasi yuktvaivam-ātmānaṃ mat-parāyaṇa: ||

Attune the mind to the Supreme, be devoted to the Supreme, offer everything to the Supreme, pay obeisance to the Supreme. By dint of the integration you derive thus through total reliance on the Supreme, you will reach the Supreme.

Perhaps for the first time Krishna strikes this kind of devotional chord in his dialogue. As stressed earlier, he is heading to the visvarupadarsana. The next chapter is vibhuti-yoga, which details the special qualities and powers of the Supreme.

As a full contrast to the various notes of yajna, meditation and allied matters, Krishna here restricts his words to the mind of the seeker alone. The whole spiritual effort is one of transforming and deepening the mind, with the singular note of reliance on the Supreme.
