"Your mind has enormous hidden dimensions. Open yourselves completely to whatever reactions and emotions the world evokes from time to time. Accept them all without any reservation or resentment. By assimilating everything and all, your mind grows deeper, stabler and more enriched."

Sixty-one pre-registered participants from 10 schools took part in the workshop. Poojya Swamiji spoke about “Moolyangalude prasakti, anivāryata (Relevance and Indispensability of Values)”. He awakened the teachers and parents to the real dimension and greatness of the mission of teaching that should change the course of the entire Nation.

Mā Gurupriyāji, Swami Nirviseshananda Tirthaji, Swami Nigamananda Tirthapaadaji, and Sadhu Padmanabhanji conducted sessions highlighting different aspects of value education. During the concluding session, Poojya Swamiji administered an oath to all the participants highlighting their role and their commitment to inculcate values in children.
Participants received jñāna prasāda (books and CDs) as well as a certificate of participation from Poojya Swamiji.

Text of the Oath administered by Poojya Swamiji to the Teachers of One day Workshop on “Inculcating values in our Children”:

1. I shall remind myself that the mission of teaching has far greater dimension and responsibility than merely covering the syllabus.

2. Transcending all considerations of remuneration and profession, I embrace teaching as a noble mission for the welfare of society and world at large.

3. Rising to the expectations of parents and our Motherland, I shall strive to observe the behaviour, interaction and conduct of the children, and inspire them to be guided by values. I will also help them cultivate these, and will give them the directions necessary for the purpose.

4. Parents entrust to us children born in their homes, for educating and intimately interacting with them, a fact I shall always remember.

5. Keeping all these points in mind, spending enough time and effort, I shall strive ceaselessly to fulfill the responsibilities of an ideal teacher.
