The senses, mind and intelligence are the seat
of kāma. The delusion it casts is through these
three, by veiling wisdom.
Note: To deal with and sublimate the strong passion
and prejudice, a closer understanding about where
and how they sprout and grow is necessary. That is
why Krishna explains the presence and activation of
passion in our personality.
Our body is inert and cannot act by itself. The same
applies to the senses both of knowledge and action
alike. Therefore, these have to animated and activated
by the inner personality with a touch of sentience.
Mind, intelligence and ego constitute the inner
personality.
Kāma, passion, lies coiled up with the outer senses as
well as the inner mind and intelligence, making it hard
to reach and subdue it effectively. A physical entity
can be easily approached and dealt with. But the
case with the inner factors is not so.
The interactional life first takes place in the sensory
level, and pemetrates inward involving the mind and
intelligence. And passion and hatred enfold these.
