Propelled by what, does man commit sin, O Krishna? He does so even against his own volition, as if goaded by some alien force!
Note: Having listened to Krishna with all attention, Arjuna’s mind became light. But his intelligence became active and he raises a pertinent question. This war itself is something he and his brothers do not want. It is forced on them by Duryodhana’s intransigence. Duryodhana’s elders were against war. What is the force that instigates him to such stuning cruelty and sin? Arjuna looks for an in depth answer. The question is actually a general one. What forces sinfulnes on one, sometimes despite hisown resistancef? Who creates the duel within, and what leads it thereafter? Where lies the cause? What is the secret? An eternal question staring at all.
