"Your mind has enormous hidden dimensions. Open yourselves completely to whatever reactions and emotions the world evokes from time to time. Accept them all without any reservation or resentment. By assimilating everything and all, your mind grows deeper, stabler and more enriched."

About our Ashram ...

An Abode of Learning and Experiential Wisdom

Poojya Swamiji explains it thus :

“This Ashram is actually a Brahmavidya abode. Right from the beginning I did not have any idea of establishing an institution. If I were having an idea, I would have proceeded in a different manner. To establish an institution means to think constantly about the institution and to recruit or allow people to come and join us with a view to do institutional work. That would have been a little different. It is based primarily on man power, not seeking.

Whoever has got the aptitude to work in an institution and take the institution’s ideals to the people by way of a suitable propaganda, I think it will be different. Whereas I only had one thought in my mind. In the same manner I happened to see my Gurudev and I liked him, I sought deeksha from him. After getting the deeksha for me deeksha and my Guru were everything. I did not think of anything else. It is that deeksha and the sādhana I did very fervently that you can say made me the way I was and I am.

blk-swamiji-lt-img

Poojya Swamiji says that the real focus

  • of devotional practices is not God, but the devotee's own mind and behaviour;
  • of karmayoga is not action but the attitude of the mind with which an action is performed;
  • of knowledge is not knowledge, but the purification and expansion of the seeker's mind.

Fee:

Spiritual Knowledge is a pursuit in itself and not linked to remuneration. In consonance with this spirit, there is no fee for this programme.

However all welfare programs of the Ashram are made possible by the generous support and contributions from individuals who believe in such benevolent activities. Ashrams exist solely for ensuring welfare and cohesion of the society. Of all the various societal-welfare activities, conducted by Narayanashrama Tapovanam, under the guidance of Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha, the primary focus is “dissemination of spiritual knowledge”.

What is expected of the participants throughout the program?

  • The primary requirement is to be mentally attuned to absorb and imbibe the knowledge to the fullest extent possible for your own transformation. This will happen only with an open mind, receptivity, attentiveness and self-effort.
  • It is mandatory that the participant will wholeheartedly engage in all the sessions and activities planned during this programme, without any break.

"The main aim of Spiritual pursuit is to gain the right knowledge of ourselves as well as of the world so that we can live a life of joy, freedom and fulfillment. Evidentally, the earlier in life we start the pursuit the better"

Swami Nirviseshananda Tirtha

  • Participants must be seriously committed to participate in the course for the entire period.
  • The program is designed for intensive absorption of Upanishadic knowledge in a sublime atmosphere. Attentiveness to the teachings, punctuality to the class schedule, sensitivity to others and an open mindset is expected.
  • Participants are advised to refrain from the use of laptops, mobile phones and internet and to restrict communication with family/workplace only in unavoidable circumstances. We advise limiting communication to once per week.  This is an intensive retreat and the personal transformation of participants will be maximized by a full and committed immersion.
  • Simple vegetarian food will be provided and participants must remain vegetarian throughout the course.

Registration:

  • Travel arrangements should be made well in advance due to high demand for tickets in India.
  • As we will be reserving your accommodation in our own facility, we request that confirmed applicants ensure their attendance at the program.
