Krishna says in the Bhagavad Geeta, “Think of me in the most exclusive manner possible. All powers and procedures proceed from me, all potentials and possibilities are abiding in me, whether it is material, physical, energial, psychological, psychic, super psychic, everything proceeds from me, so you rely upon me.” What is the saadhana here? The saadhana is in the mind.
If there are lacks, excesses, imbalances and deficiencies in the mind, all these are belonging to the mind structure of your personality; everything can be removed and set right. And the one way of doing it is to go to the centre of your being. Let the sinner go to the centre where sin touches not. Come back from there, the sinfulness will have been less. The way is to go into the centre. And this is accomplished by preserving a thought. How much of reliance you are able to infuse into that thought. How much of potential you are able to imagine in the language of the mind.
As you think, so you become, so you grow. It is a question of the mind becoming reliant … reliant … reliant. Already there are the intricate systems and laws governing everything in this universe. In addition to that, for your life, you are only required to keep your mind self-reliant or God-reliant. So when you are asked to preserve a thought, it is something like ordering the whole universe to be orderly for you. Ultimately, the saadhana is this preservation in the mind of the reliance and the confidence.
