ह्रषीकेशं तदा वाक्यमिमाह महीपते ।
अर्जुन उवाच--- सेनयोरुभयोर्मध्ये रथं स्थापय मेऽच्युत ।। १.२१ ।।
यावदेतान्निरीक्षेऽहं योद््धुकामानवस्थितान् । कैर्मया सह योध्दव्य-मस्मिन् रणसमुद्यमे ।। १.२२ ।।
Hṛṣīkeśaṁ tadā vākyam idam āha mahīpate ।
Arjun uvāca senayor ubhayor madhye rathaṁ sthapaya me' cyuta ।। 1.21 ।।
yāvad etān nirīkṣe ahaṁ yodhu-kāmān avasthitān । kair mayā saha yoddhavyaṁ asmin raṇa-samudyame ।। 1.22 ।।

Arjuna said: O the infallible, on the eve of this war, staton my chariot betwixt the two armies, so that I may see those fighters, among those aspiring to battle, whom I have to encounter myself.
Note: Apparently Arjuna was quite proud in giving his first order to Krishna, his charioteer. On Krishna’s questioning, Arjuna had confessed that he decided to choose Krishna in preference to Dwaraka’s Narayanee sena, which Duryodhana opted for, because he had long cherished a love to fight a war having Krishna as charioteer. That desire having been fulfilled, he was apparently elated and also proud! But to give such a tall order to Krishna, was he or any one fit, resourceful?
