तत: शङ्खाश्च भेर्यश्च पणवानकगोमुखा: ।
सहसैवाभ्यहन्यन्त स शब्दस्तुमुलोऽभवत्‌ ।। १.१३ ।।

tasya sañjanayanharṣaṃ kuruvṛddhaḥ pitāmahaḥ ।
siṃhanādaṃ vinodyōccaīḥ ṣaṅkhaṃ dadhmau pratāpvān ।। 1.13 ।।

 Instantly sounded the conches, kettledrums,
tabors, trumpets and cow-horns; it was a
tumultuous sound indeed.

Note: Sanjaya had only to say that the collective sound
of the huge army of Duryodhana, more than one and half
times the opponent’s, was just tumultuous. Despite the
sound of the large variety kettledrums, tabors, trumpets,
cowhorns, etc.. It had no effect at all on the opponents.
One can discern the subtle but pronounced influence of
the Dharmic nature of Kurukshetra battlefield.
