अथ चैनं नित्यजातं नित्यं वा मन्यसे मृतम् ।
तथापि त्वं महाबाहो नैनं शोचितुमर्हसि ।। २-२६ ।।

atha cainaṁ nitya-jātaṁ nityaṁ vā manyase mṛtam |
tathāpi tvaṁ mahā-bāho nainaṁ śocitum arhasi || 2.26 ||

 Even if you think of the Soul as ever getting born or ever dying, then too O mighty armed, you do not deserve to grieve.

Note: After exposing the Imperishable nature of the Soul, the ‘I’ in every one, Krishna presents a number of ordinary points of view, which only confirm what he has already exposed. By this, he conveys that the Soul-vision is not in conflict with any accepted standards of thinking and evaluation. There is no conflict between Soul thought and the rest of reasoning.
