O son of Kunti, the contacts between the senses and their objects bring about sukha-duhkhas (joy and sorrow) to the mind, like cold and heat to the body. They come and go, hence transitory. Just forbear them, that is all.
Note: See how Krishna defines life briefly but completely. For every one, it is an interaction between his senses on the body and the world objects around. This irresistibly brings about sukha and duhkha. happiness and unhappiness, in the mind, which are like cold and heat in the bodily level. They will come and go. None at any time can intercept this process. Knowing this to be so, develop tolerance. Coexist with them, with the strength of this analysis and knowledge.
