The 11th Annual Sreemad Bhaagavata Tattva Sameeksha Satram will be held in Paralikad ‘Naimishaaranyam’ from 23rd December 2012 to 1st January 2013. Like the annual Anna Vastra Daana Satram, this event too is jointly organized by Narayanashrama Tapovanam and Hind Navotthana Pratishtan.
The Satram is a great spirituo-social event, set to ensure the kshema-mangala (prosperity and well-being) of one and all. While the Anna Vastra Daana Satram – in which rice and cloth were given to more than 27,500 families this year – caters to primary human needs, Jnaana Satram bestows Abhaya and Amrita (Fearlessness and Immortality), the ultimate attainments of human life. When natural calamities like earthquakes, tsunami, cyclones and accidents, as also human failures like moral and ethical downfall have become widespread, this kind of a strong auspicious wave is a timely safeguard. This, as Krishna says in Geeta, has the power to evoke subtle laws of nature to provide the necessary redress.
This great jnanotsava (wisdom festivity) intends to ensure the prosperity and well-being of one and all, by instilling spirituo-socio-ethical values and messages. Scriptural texts like Sreemad Bhaagavatam have the sole object of inculcating eternal values, which ensure long-term auspicious growth of individuals as well as the society.
Apart from announcement meetings in nearby villages, Yaatras (processions) for bringing the (i) Sri Krishna idol (ii) Dharma Dhvaja and (iii) Sreemad Bhaagavata Grantha will form part of the General Dhaarmic Awakening measures. As in earlier years, essay writing, Sreemad Bhaagavata Hymns recital, and elocution competitions are being arranged for different age groups, to imbue a lasting effect in society.
Over 40 speakers, 6 each day, will expound the essential messages of the Text in Malayalam. This year there will also be six talks in English, two per day on 29th, 30th and 31st December. In addition, full recital (Paaraayanam) of the Sanskrit Text will be done part by part every day.
The highlight of the concluding day, 1st January 2012, will be the Vishnu-sahasranaama Saarvajanika Mahaayajna, with over 1,000 people together performing Archana and Havan, with the specific sankalpa of bringing prosperity, unity, inner strength and welfare for one and all.
The Sreemad Bhaagavata Tattva Sameeksha Satram bestows enlightening benediction to the entire humanity. To take part in this - as a listener or even a distant supporter - is to accrue rare fortune and blessing for the family as well as future generations.
